Established in 1943 under the sponsorship of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Stella Maris High School is a small, independent Catholic school for young women. Stella Maris is accredited by the New York Board of Regents and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. A highly qualified staff of dedicated religious and lay teachers teaches the comprehensive college preparatory curriculum.
In 2010 after 67 years of educating young women Stella Maris was forced to close due to low enrollment. The memory of Stella Maris High School will forever remain in the minds and hearts of the students, faculty and administration who shared their lives at the Small School on the beach where Big Things happen.
